Communications Strategy

The core of our communications strategy hinged on robust internal communications, leveraging college leaders as pivotal champions for the strategic plan's adoption and implementation. We developed a multifaceted content strategy that included a leadership toolkit, email templates, videos, graphics, PowerPoint templates, and other digital assets, all designed to meet diverse needs and adhere to accessibility standards. This approach ensured comprehensive reach and engagement across Shereidan, fostering a unified movement towards the strategic goals set forth in the plan.

Empowering Champions: The Role of Leadership in Strategic Communication

To ensure the successful integration and ongoing engagement with the new strategic plan, we focused on empowering internal communications champions through a comprehensive leadership toolkit.

Recognizing the importance of leadership buy-in, we facilitated detailed sessions to identify the resources leaders needed to effectively communicate and embody the plan. We supplied them with tailored PowerPoint templates, speaking notes, email templates, and dynamic graphics. This proactive approach transformed the strategic plan from a static document into a vital, actionable framework within daily operations, ensuring it lives and breathed through every layer of the organization.

Takeaway Marketing Insights

  • Create Useable Assets for Action: Transform strategic plans from static documents into dynamic tools by creating interactive assets. Develop resources like PowerPoint templates, icons, and digital content that enable continuous interaction and progress tracking, enhancing the practical application of strategic objectives.

  • Activate Leadership as Communication Advocates: Equip leaders to effectively champion strategic initiatives by engaging them early in the communication process. Conduct listening sessions to identify their needs, provide them with tailored communication tools like email templates and speaking notes, and empower them to lead the plan's advocacy within their teams.

  • Inclusive Visual Representation Matters: Carefully select images that reflect the diversity and inclusivity of the community. Ensuring visual content resonates with and includes all community members is crucial for fostering a sense of belonging and collective ownership of the strategic plan.
